With all my safety gear in place and a site orientation meeting under my belt, the first day of my Live City Vancouver Olympic gig got underway. All in all a pretty good day despite not getting as much done as i thought i would. Sometimes a leisurely pace is the way to go about things though.
To be honest the site is much grander and far cooler than i had originally expected. I think the people in attendance for our nightly shows during the 14 day run are in for a real treat as far as state of the art production is concerned.
Day one is now under my belt and if i was not so damn tired i would write a bit more. Its 9:50pm and this kid is in bed ready to sleep...6am comes way to early...

Viewership and a new room
It has become somewhat apparent that more people read my ramblings than i originally thought. Not all seem to subscribe as followers, but i am starting to learn that i do in fact have somewhat of a readership. Perhaps soon the adverts will come and the money will begin to roll in. Oh jesus, pinch me because obviously i am dreaming. It is however nice to know that people are tuning in and that my words are not falling on deaf ears.
Today i arrived home from Chicago around one in the afternoon. A cab was my vehicle of choice for my journey from YVR to my east side residence. You know in all my years of traveling i can probably count on one hand the amount of times i have had a personal ride home. Props are now sent out to RJ for being the last person to pick me up at the airport upon arrival home.
After almost six years in the same east side house i have officially moved into the big room with all of my life's belongings. I must say i did a rather decent job of setting everything up. This being despite my attempts at hiring two different ladies with creative interior design skills to assist me. Apparently everyone is far too busy these days..life i now know really does get in the way sometimes.
The basic furniture is set but the walls are bare. My olympic gig begins at 7am tomorrow morning with my next full day off not scheduled until mid April. This leads me to believe the walls will remain bare instead of opting for the choice of quick placement with lack of thought.
I am glad i am busy right now because dear god this brain of mine does not seem to take but a moments rest.
Standby for my upcoming gold medal performance..ill keep you posted...
thank you to my readers...whether you are signed up as followers or not..i know your out there

Question
What key do you suppose Taylor is singing in during this performance at last nights Grammy Awards?

Speaking of the Grammys...if you are going to censor out lyrics is it possible to just mute the vocal track instead of the entire audio track? I thought my hotel TV was messed up.

Take the Long Way Home
I am currently signed up for a comfy middle seat on my flight back to Vancouver and could not be more excited.
Am i a tad bit jaded...yes...and deservedly so i would say, but whatever.
The next time i see any of my current tourmates is not until March when we start the tour. For all intense purposes i am looking forward to the break and doing my own thing. Sometimes you think you are strong and ultimately in charge of all emotions and feelings. Yet other times you reailize that a little bit of a break would be a good thing.
I sure hope the two people on either side of me tomorrow morning understand the unwritten rules of the air and share the armrest from time to time.

SNL, Crazy Promo, and a future GOld Medal Performance
Saturday Night LIve is now amongst the list of shows that i can include in my repertoire of completed television shows. Overall a very smooth experience that i believe was quite successful. If only the show was still funny and influential...ahh the old days. Remember Eddie Murphy, Chris Farley Tina Fey, Will Ferrell. Hands down my favorite skit of the night was during weekend update with Seth Meyers when he interviewed "snookie" from Jersey Shore. "Im talking Scarface poster huge!!!" Too funny!
Moving on to the windy city from New York we are now in Chicago for what will be my last promotional appearance with MB and the Crazy Love promo machine. For the first time since i have worked for the maestro i will be using a sub in place of me for the next couple appearances, so that i can go back to Vancouver and work the 2010 Olympic games. It has been a helluva ride since we left our respected homes on Oct 3, 2009 to begin the promo run in Toronto Canada. I have always been a big fan of the city of Toronto , and despite having opening success at Bravo and Canada AM, i was left with a bit of a bad feeling in my mouth after leaving Toronto. I hope it regains its respect in my mind, but for now i am happy to steer clear of the "centre of the universe". CHicago and Oprah Winfrey were our second stop on the Crazy Love Promo trip and helped us to release a number 1 album in America! The big O has got some pull!! So after various stints in the UK, Germany, France, Holland, Australia, and countries i am forgetting, we are back here in Chicago for my last promo show before the start of our world tour in March.
It has become apparent to me in the last few days that tickets for our Canadian tour have gone on sale because everyone from my sister, to friends i had back in high school of sent me messages of some sort letting me know i will be in their city on such an such day and whether or not they should buy tickets or can i help them out. Unfortunately it is Craig Brittain, not Craig Ticketmaster....although i always help when i can.
After flying home to Vancouver tomorrow i begin my quest to win a gold medal in audio production at this years 2010 Winter Olympic Games. My day begins at 7am on wed and i can be found everyday down at David Lam Park for Livenations mainstage until the end of the games on the 28th. I figure with all of my previous training and sheer brilliance in my field i am a good candidate to find myself up top the medal circle accepting gold for most outstanding and cool audio guy!
Sometimes i crack myself up and the laughter in my head is louder than the crickets in real life....
showertime..
